With a private, covered deck complete with a table and chairs, it is tempting to decide to forego adventuring out. A spacious kitchen provides appliances and is fully equipped for those who may enjoy gourmet cooking while on vacation. Televisions are available in the living room and bedrooms. Five Wineries to Visit While Staying at Westwood Shores

Red Oak Vineyard is an urban winery located in Sturgeon Bay. A visit to this winery is similar to a café setting. A long, tasting bar with comfortable cushioned stools provides a relaxing setting for enjoying a wine tasting. Close by several small tables are available for enjoying a glass of wine.

Simon Creek Vineyard and Winery offers an elegant approach to wine. The spacious tasting room provides numerous products to browse while enjoying a glass of wine. With a large deck off the tasting room one can spend a few hours enjoying the day and the wine.

Door Peninsula Winery is located in an 1868 schoolhouse. The building was used as a schoolhouse until 1963. Step inside the building and you will see the original coat hooks used by the students. The next room is an assortment of wine accessories and gifts. The last room is the location of the wine counter. Currently, the winery produces 54 wines.

Stone’s Throw Winery tasting room is in a restored, 90-year-old barn. Much of the stone walls remain adding to the ambiance of your visit. Many of the wines available at Stone’s Throw are produced with California grapes.

Orchard Country Winery & Market is recognized by the striking red barns standing out amongst several varieties of fruits. The tasting room offers a large selection of items to browse. This facility is also known for pick your own fruit in season. Here they focus on grapes, cherries, apples and pears.

Westwood Shores Waterfront Resort is a great place to stay. The rooms are spacious and clean, the private balconies add to the atmosphere and the panoramic view from each suite is delightful. Several wineries are nearby where visitors can taste Wisconsin produced wines. Dining is nearby, although there is no dining onsite.
