Milwaukee celebrates summer with festivals, fireworks, music, food and more. The beautiful Lake Michigan lake front is the backdrop to many of Milwaukee's festivals. Following are some of the events that liven up Milwaukee in the summer. Festival dates updated for 2008.
Summerfest The World's Largest Music Festival
Summerfest music festival will run from June 26 to July 6, 2008 at the Henry Maier Festival Park. This is the 40th anniversary of the popular festival, the largest music festival in the world. The Lake Michigan lake front will be filled with the sounds of different styles of music,. Ten different stages are filled with music 45 different food and beverage vendors and four marketplaces offer entertainment for hours and hours.Lake Michigan breezes keep the grounds pretty comfortable on the hot summer days. .
Stroll through the grounds, have a beer or wine, and listen to performers on different stages. Every stage has tables and chairs so visitors can have a bite to eat while relaxing and listening to tunes. . Beer vendors are always nearby. Milwaukee area restaurants serve food from booths set up around the grounds. Summerfest is a delightful day, with music, sunshine, lake views, food and fun.
