Summerfest is a music festival that features 700 bands on 11 stages over and 11 day period in summer. Stroll scenic lake front grounds for diverse entertainment.

Summerfest on the Milwaukee, Wisconsin lake front is "The World's Largest Music Festival." Eleven stages of entertainment feature over 700 bands over the eleven day period. starting on June 26, 2008. Summerfest is a summer tradition in the city on the shore of Lake Michigan.Summerfest Music Fest is an outdoor festival along the shores of Lake Michigan in Downtown Milwaukee.

Patrons are free to stroll the grounds and travel from stage to stage, sampling the musical fare. The stages each have a beer sponsor, serving plastic cups of their ice cold brews. Food booths are placed around the ground.

Festival attenders spend a leisurely afternoon or evening in the summer sunshine, cooled by lake breezes. Stages feature musical entertainment throughout the day and night. Most stages start their musical programs at Noon. The final show of the evening starts at around 11:00 pm.

The headliners at Marcus Amphitheater require an additional ticket purchase. The other ten stages of entertainment are included in general Summerfest admission.

General admission to Summerfest includes the entertainment at the following stages:The Miller Lite Oasis, The Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame, Harley Davidson Roadhouse with Miller Genuine Draft, Zippo Rock Stage with Miller Lite, Potawatomi Bingo Casino Stage with Miller High Life, JoJo's Martini Lounge with Miller Lite, M&I Classic Rock Stage with Miller Lite U.S. Cellular Connection Stage with Leinenkugel's, Casio Interstate Music Groove Garage, Chipotle Rhythm Kitchens.

Big Bang Fireworks are held on opening night, Thursday, June 26.

  • Thursday, June 26. Stevie Wonder headlines at the Marcus Amphitheater Main Stage at 7:00 pm. Le Ann Rimes will performs the Miller Lite Oasis at 8:00 pm. The Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame features Eric Burdon and the Animals at 6:00 pm and Gnarls Barkley at 11:00 pm. Three Dog Night will perform on the M&I Classic Rock Stage at 9:00 pm. Additional stages feature Little Big Town, Nonpoint, Drowning Pool, Cross Canadian Ragweed , Cowboy Mouth, They Might be Giants and Waterstreet.
  • Friday, June 27. An Evening with Rush is on the Marcus Amphitheater Main Stage at 7:30 pm. Other stages feature Rusted Root, Phil Vassar, Music Soulchild, Anew Revolution, Sevendust, Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience, Marcia Ball, The LoveMonkey's, Think Floyd, Flobots, SignalDrift, Pete Francis (of Dispatch) and David Seebach's Wonders of Magic.
  • Saturday, June 28: John Mellencamp with Lucinda Williams will headline at the Marcus Amphitheater Main stage at 8:00 pm. The Miller Lite Oasis features Trace Adkins at 10:00 pm. M & I Classic Rock Stage features Daryl Stuermer at 5:30 pm and Blondie at 10:00 pm. Featured entertainers at the other stages include BoDeans, Dashboard Confessional, Carrie Rodriguez, Old 97;x, Willy Porter, Eli "Paperboy" Reed and the True Love, James Hunter, Rhythm Kings, Shinedown, Burbank Cartel and Roster McCabe.
  • Sunday, June 29: Steve Miller Band with Joe Cocker headlines at Marcus Amphitheater. Featured entertainment on other stages include Jack's Mannequin, Bryan Lee, Trombone Shorty and Orleans Ave, Bonerama, Galactic featuring Boots Riley of the Coup, Ryan Shaw, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Parlor Mob, Egypt Central, Theory of a Deadman, Miranda Lambert, The Sweet Tarts, Dickey Betts and Great Southern, The Polyphonic Sprees, Year of the Gun and We the Living.
  • Monday, June 30: Rascal Flatts with Taylor Swift headlines on the Marcus Amphitheater Main Stage at 8:00 pm. Harley Davidson Roadhouse features Backyard Tire Fire at 8:30 pm and Gin Blossoms at 10:00 pm. Other stages feature Matisyahu, Sean Kingston, Candlebox, Wayne Baker Brooks, Indigenous, Hoe Hite and A Tribute to James Brown featuring Bootsy Collins.
  • Tuesday, July 1: Alicia Keys with Stephen Marley headlines at Marcus Amphitheater at 7:30 pm. Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo are on the M & I Classic Rock Stage at 8:30 pm. Other stages feature Keller Williams, Railroad Earth, Yonder Mountain String Band, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, O.A.R., 12 Stones, Otis Taylor, Zappa Plays Zappa and Five Card Stud.
  • Wednesday, July 2: John Mayer with Colbie Caillat and Brett Dennen are on the Marcus Amphitheater Main Stage at 7:30 pm. Other stages feature Coheed and Cambria, O.A.R., Lee Burridge, Dieselboy, The Crystal Method, Saving Abel, Finger Eleven, GB Leighton, Marty Stuart, Eddie Butts, Alkaline Trio and Creedence Clearwater Revisited.
  • Thursday, July 3: Tim McGraw with Jason Aldean and Halfway to Hazard is at Marcus Amphitheater at 7:30 pm. Kansas is on M & I Classic Rock features Kansas at 10:00 pm. Other stages feature Thievery Corporation, Gavin DeGraw, Drive-By Truckers, Paul Thorn, Alejandro Escovedo, Lucinda Williams, Ingrid Michaelson, Gomez, The Wailers, The Boogie Man and Plain White T's.
  • Friday, July 4: On Independence Day the Stone Temple Pilots with Black Francis headlines at Marcus Amphitheater. The Roots are at Miller Lite Oasis at 10:00 pm. the other stages feature Phil Lesh and Friendly, Goldfinger, Less Than Jake, Black Tide, biLLy bOy on poiSon, Five Finger Death Punch , The Crisis,, Mountain and Slightly Stoopid.
  • Saturday, July 5: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers with Steve Winwood headline at Marcus Amphitheater at 8:00 pm. M & I Classic Rock Stage feature The Zombies at 3:00 pm and Cheap Trick at 10:00 pm. Other stages feature Pat Monahan of Train, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Javier Garcia, Willie Colon, Black Stone Cherry, Jackyl, Steel Pulse and Rhythm Method.
  • Sunday, July 6: Jonas Brothers headline at Marcus Amphitheater at 7:00 pm. Earth Wind and Fire is on M&I Classic Rock Stage at 9:00 pm. Other stages feature 311, Lady Antebellum, Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi Soul Stew Review, Mickey Hart band and Jakob Dylan and the Gold Mountain Rebels

Main gate admission tickets to Summerfest ranges from $3 to $15. Most entertainment is included in general admission.
